HiFi Bar Book Reading NYC
It was a Wednesday and I was drinking a pint of amazing lager at one of my favorite bars (I have many), the HiFi. I was sitting off the bar near the front door and there was this postcard telling me about a reading later that night.
A few pint later I was listening to some really cool ligature by local artists. I love random art and when it's in a cool bar, even better.
I was having a really good night, great tap pours, engaging people listening and vibing all around. I wanted to remember this and so I took this picture. The guy sitting in front of me, his shadow creates this starting point that goes left to the people standing and the arches above, then to the main subject on the mic. The way the white lights reflect on the ceiling is also interesting to me. I love contrast and small points of focus. The way the mic looks, light on the top and it's dark belly, it's two toes peeking out on the stage. Cheers.
